After some tinkering, this site is finally up and running!
To be honest, I just wanted something to toy with at first. When the pandemic hit, lockdowns rolled out everywhere, and my normal daily life suddenly slowed to a crawl. I couldn't just go out whenever I wanted or travel like before — suddenly I had more time than I knew what to do with.
But I'm not the type who can just lie around doing nothing.
Since I couldn't go out anyway, I figured I might as well build something fun in my room. And that's how this site was born.
From the domain name to the pages, the styling, all the way to the various configs and features — every step was pretty enjoyable. Sure, I ran into quite a few problems along the way, and some things I had to redo multiple times. But every time I solved an issue, it felt amazing.
It's like building a little house with my own hands — it's still simple, but it's mine.
Why did I want to make this site?
I've always thought the internet is something magical.
One person sits in a room, types out some code, writes a few lines of text, and then someone else on the other side of the world can open it. Even though in reality everyone's stuck in their own separate spaces, on the internet, it feels like we can reconnect.
That's what I find so fascinating about it.
Real life was put on hold, but ideas weren't. Can't go outside? Then channel your curiosity into the online world. Can't travel around? Then dive into the things you're interested in.
What will I write here?
This site might hold all kinds of things in the future.
Maybe bits of daily life, things I've been into lately, or some tech tinkering logs. Like problems I ran into while building this site, random ideas that pop into my head, everyday ramblings — just stuff I want to write down even if there's no real theme.
After all, this is my site — it doesn't need to be formal, and I don't have to write it any particular way.
I'll write whatever I feel like.
Just Getting Started
It's still bare-bones and far from finished.
But for me, it's already a pretty good start. At least during this unusual time, I didn't just sit in my room staring at the walls — I actually built something that's mine.
I'll keep updating it little by little.
I hope this little corner of the internet sticks around, and that when I look back at it later, I'll still remember the person sitting in this room — curious about everything, eager to try anything.
